BELLAVISTA ALMA CUVEE BTUT
Alma is an “affectionate” term for the land that produces wonders. It’s a cuvée that symbolises our tradition, inspired by the pure essenceof harmony. A tender homag e to the place where we have laid our roots, which we love and defend.
Alma Cuvée was born out of the skilful blending of approximately 60 of the 120 estate harvest selections. Approximately 100 selections come from the same harvest and are identified with extreme care throughout the 107 plots ranged over 10 different Franciacorta municipalities (“horizontal blending”). To this broad spectrum of scent and taste variants we add the particular perfumes and flavours of “reserve wines” from different harvests (“vertical blending”).
The “reserve wines” represent our greatest asset and treasure and it is with the greatest consideration that we draw on these to define, and ensure the extensive life of, the sensual connotations that distinguish the Bellavista style. Their exceptional contribution creates the “constant taste” of Casa Bellavista’s wines and particularly lends the Alma Cuvée the texture and soothing elegance that has always been its distinctive trait along with our tradition.
A subtle composition of exceptional raw materials, the characteristics of which are enhanced by what is now the almost forgotten art of wine-making. At least 15% of the wines it is made up of ferment and mature in small white oak casks: a production detail that endows our Cuvéewith astounding complexity.
The grapes: 80% Chardonnay, 19% Pinot nero, 1% Pinot bianco
The mousse is white, lively and decidedly persistent.
The perlage is fine and continuous, with abundant head. The colour is bright and yellow with marked greenish tinges. The bouquet is broad and enticing, embracing nuances of sweet ripe fruit (Decana pears) along with subtle hints of chlorophyll and vanilla. The flavour matches the nose, and the aftertaste is tangy and satisfying. Its depth and remarkable harmony blend into its outstanding elegance. Its vibrant character is sustained without the least compromise by a freshness that preserves its persistence.
