The wine is named for the Gromis family, which owned a prized vineyard in the commune of La Morra throughout the 19th century. The Gaja family now owns this vineyard and, together with an outstanding Gaja-owned vineyard in Serralunga, it provides the grapes for this wine. The soil of both vineyards is primarily calcareous clay and marl; altitudes range from 985 to 1457 feet above sea level; exposures are south-east and south-west.
Appellation: Barolo D.O.C.G.
Vineyards: Located in La Morra and Serralunga.
Fermentation: With the skins in stainless steel (28 C/1 week, 18 C/2 weeks).
Aging: 12 months in barriques, 18 months in large oak casks.
An outstanding expression of two great Barolo terroirs – La Morra and Serralunga –
Dagromis has an intense color, rich berry aromas with floral overtones and a solid structure
balanced by rich softness. Ideal for long aging.
